Most churches and nonprofits want Deaf visitors to feel at home. Few know where to start. We train the people who greet, serve and lead, so a Deaf person is met with understanding from the first hello. Your team learns Deaf culture, how to communicate with respect, and basic ASL together.

What's included

  • Deaf culture and Deaf awareness training for your staff, once a year on site. Group ASL is part of the training.
  • Deaf culture and Deaf awareness training for your volunteers, on the same visit.
  • A spring and a fall one-day group ASL class for your team.
  • Optional 8-week group ASL courses for your team, in spring and fall, fully in person.
  • A CODA instructor, plus handouts and practice videos to support in-person sessions. No textbook required.
  • A Deaf instructor option is available.

Not included: audits, certification, and interpreting for services or events.

Who it's for

Churches and the ministries they run, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, and fiscally sponsored projects. It fits pastors, ministry leaders, staff, greeters, volunteers and worship teams.
